Generating images with AI has become easier than ever, including creating packaging designs.

If you’re a small business looking for custom packaging but don’t have the budget for a designer, AI packaging design tools can be a big help. They let you explore ideas, test out different styles, and even create artwork without needing advanced skills.

In this post, we’ll show you how to use AI for product packaging design and introduce some easy-to-use tools to help you design packaging that looks great and works well.

How Can AI Help With Packaging Design?

1. Find Inspiration

AI image generators are a great starting point when you’re not sure which direction to take with your packaging design. You can type simple prompts and see what designs AI creates for you.

Try prompts like:

  • “Minimalist cosmetics packaging”
  • “Eco-friendly coffee bag design”
  • “Elegant gift box for jewelry”

The best part? Most AI tools generate several versions from the same prompt. This means you can compare multiple styles quickly and figure out what works best for your brand and product.

Instead of staring at a blank page, you’ll have dozens of design ideas in minutes. Use these as a starting point to understand your preferences and as a helpful visual reference when you’re ready to develop actual artwork or communicate with packaging manufacturers.

2. Design Artwork Efficiently

Once you know what style you want, generative AI tools can help create the actual artwork for your packaging. If you don’t have a logo yet, start there.

Here are a few tips for using AI to create packaging artwork:

Write Descriptive Prompts

The more specific you are, the better results you’ll get. Instead of saying “make a design,” try prompts like:

  • “Abstract geometric pattern with bold colors and modern style”
  • “Hand-drawn illustration with simple lines and playful feel”
  • “Watercolor flowers, soft colors, elegant and delicate”

Use Reference Images

Many AI tools let you upload a picture as a starting point. You can use the inspiration images you created earlier and ask AI to create a design that builds on that concept.

Saves Time for Everyone

AI isn’t just for beginners—professional packaging designers use it to speed up their workflow too. What used to take hours in Photoshop now takes seconds. Designers can create complete artwork instantly, then fine-tune the details by hand.

This means faster turnaround times and lower costs, whether you’re doing it yourself or working with a designer.

3. Generate Dieline & 3D Mock-Up

To turn your packaging concept into something real, you’ll need to place your artwork onto a dieline—a flat blueprint that outlines the folds, cuts, and layout of your packaging.

Many online tools now let you generate dielines by inputting basic dimensions. You can upload your artwork and see a 3D preview. Thanks to AI, this process is becoming even easier and more streamlined:

  • Creating your artwork automatically
  • Applying it to the dieline instantly
  • Showing real-time 3D previews as you make changes
  • Producing files ready to be sent to manufacturers for printing

This means you can go from idea to production-ready design in one smooth process. With AI dieline tools help handle the technical stuff, you can focus on perfecting your product.

However, AI dieline generators still have limitations. Most tools can only handle standard box shapes and layouts. If you need something more complex—like a custom structure, multi-tier design, or fitted insert—you’ll still need professional packaging structural design support.

4. Virtual Structural Testing

Beyond aesthetics, structural integrity is just as important to packaging. In the past, businesses had to build multiple physical prototypes to test if their packaging was strong enough. This took weeks and cost a lot of money.

Today, self-learning AI models are changing that. With advanced algorithms, AI can simulate how different packaging structures will perform under various conditions. This includes whether the packaging can handle shipping and handling, and how well it can protect the product.

For example, AptarGroup has used Monolith’s AI platform to predict how changes in size, shape, and material thickness affect the stability of their new bottles. This allows engineers to identify potential design flaws early and optimize packaging before physical testing even begins.

By using AI for virtual structural testing, businesses can speed up development, reduce prototyping costs, and eliminate delays caused by back-and-forth communication with data scientists. It’s a smarter, faster way to ensure your packaging is not only beautiful but built to perform.

What to Keep in Mind When Using AI for Design

Avoid Copying Others’ Work

Generative AI often creates designs by referencing existing content online or mimicking popular art styles. As a result, it may sometimes produce artwork that’s too similar to other brands or artists’ work.

Using AI for inspiration and brainstorming is generally safe, but when it comes to final designs, it’s important to be alert. Always check to make sure your artwork isn’t too close to something that already exists. If it feels too similar, tweak the design to make it original.

This isn’t about being overly cautious—it’s about protecting your brand from potential legal issues in the future.

Double-Check Important Information

When using AI to create production-ready packaging files, remember that AI isn’t reliable for adding factual or legally required information. This includes nutrition facts, ingredient lists, warning labels, and safety instructions.

Every country has different packaging regulations. Any incorrect or missing information can lead to serious compliance issues. To stay safe, use AI for creative design only, and add factual information separately.

Always double-check that your packaging meets all legal requirements before moving into production. When in doubt, consult a legal expert or a packaging professional to make sure everything is accurate and compliant.

Always Validate AI Designs with Human Insights

AI can create impressive designs in seconds, but it can’t replace human judgment. When it comes to packaging, factors like brand alignment, user experience, and emotional connection still require a human touch.

At the end of the day, your packaging needs to resonate with real people—not algorithms. Always review AI-generated designs through the lens of your brand and audience. Ask yourself: Does this reflect our identity? Will this appeal to our customers?

Trust your instincts. Use AI as a creative partner, not the final decision-maker.

Brand Harmony in Every Box: Venture Home Fragrance Collection https://pakfactory.com/blog/venture-home-fragrance-collection-candle-incense-boxes/ Tue, 08 Jul 2025 21:32:52 +0000 https://pakfactory.com/blog/?p=6313 Light a candle or burn a stick of incense, and let the soothing scent transform your home into a private retreat. As more people embrace mental wellness, home fragrance has surged in popularity, becoming a simple yet powerful way to create moments of calm.

Looking to blend the art of scent with craftsmanship, home fragrance brand Venture introduced the Oasis Collection, a line of handmade candles and incense crafted to turn any space into a personal haven. To complement their carefully crafted products, PakFactory partnered with Venture to develop beautiful, thoughtful packaging that mirrors the care poured into every piece.

About Venture and Their Oasis Collection

Venture is a young, imaginative brand dedicated to creating experiences that blend art and emotion. Each of their home fragrance products is handmade with care in the USA.

In harmony with their brand vision, the Oasis Collection draws inspiration from the gentle rhythms of nature. It features candles and incense sticks in two distinct scents: Paloma, a bright, airy blend of grapefruit and pink pepper; and Drift, a warm, inviting mix of amber and vanilla. Every ingredient is toxin-free and cruelty-free, underscoring Venture’s commitment to mindful crafting.

To bring more artistry to the collection, Venture partnered with Charlotte Smith Studios in Atlanta to create the candle vessels. Each vessel is made from hand-thrown porcelain and designed to be reused. To take sustainability even further, Venture also offers a refill service, giving every candle a second life and reinforcing their promise to care for both people and the planet.

Creating Packaging Worthy of Handcrafted Excellence

It was Venture’s first time sourcing packaging. All they knew was that they needed rigid boxes for candles, incense sticks, and ceramic incense holders. With limited experience and many uncertainties, they turned to PakFactory for expert guidance.

Recognizing how important the Oasis Collection was as their signature line, our packaging specialist, Michelle, and the PakFactory team developed a tailored solution. Together, we crafted a series of high-quality packaging that reflects the same care and artistry found in Venture’s products.

Bespoke Structure for Each Unique Product

To meet the needs of each item in the collection, we designed three distinct custom rigid boxes. Each with its own carefully considered structure:

1. Candle: Partial Cover Telescope Box with Foam Insert

Since the ceramic candle vessel is both delicate and heavy, our team designed a cube-shaped telescopic rigid box. The sturdy two-piece structure can handle the weight while safeguarding the porcelain. Unlike a typical full-flush lid, the partial cover lid reveals just enough of the inner compartment. This thoughtful design makes the candle easier to access while delivering a smooth, satisfying unboxing experience.Inside, a custom-fitted EPE foam insert securely holds the candle vessel in place, ensuring it stays perfectly protected throughout transit and handling.

2. Incense Sticks: Drawer Box with Ribbon Pull Tab

For the long, delicate incense sticks, we engineered a drawer box precisely tailored to their length. Its rigid structure not only offers impeccable protection but also enhances the presentation with a touch of luxury. A ribbon pull tab ensures the inner tray slides out effortlessly. As customers open the box, the gentle aroma begins to escape, creating a memorable, sensory experience that starts the moment they unbox their purchase.

3. Incense Holder: Lid and Tray Box

The handmade ceramic incense holder features an irregular, pebble-like shape. We designed a lid and tray rigid box with a shallow base that fits the holder’s length and height perfectly, preventing excess movement inside. The lid covers snugly over the base tray, creating a secure closure while allowing effortless opening. As a final touch, a subtle embossed line on the lid echoes the shape of the holder, giving customers a visual hint of the nature-inspired piece sitting inside.

Consistency Across Collection

Since all the products belong to the same collection, it was essential to ensure each box—though different in structure—shared a unified look and feel that stayed true to Venture’s branding.

We began by exploring several white and cream paper options for the box wrap. After a few rounds of sampling, the client settled on an eggshell-colored textured paper that perfectly aligned with their organic, natural brand aesthetic. Once the ideal shade was selected, we went through rigorous quality checks to guarantee the exact same eggshell color appeared consistently across all boxes.

Beyond color, each packaging piece features the same thoughtful design elements: Venture’s brand name, the Paloma and Drift scent names, and clean botanical artwork—all rendered in black for crisp contrast. This cohesive design approach ensures the entire collection presents a harmonious, nature-inspired look from every angle.

PakFactory went through rigorous quality checks to ensure the chosen eggshell color (left) is consistently achieved across all boxes.

Glossy Yet Subtle Details

Although Venture favored a minimalist style, they still wanted certain elements—like the scent names Paloma and Drift and their botanical artwork—to stand out. Many brands achieve this with metallic foiling in gold or silver to create a high-end look. However, the client felt metallic finishes would be too flashy and out of step with their natural, understated brand aesthetic.

Taking their vision to heart, our team recommended a gloss black foil paired with an embossing effect on the text and graphics. This thoughtful combination allows key details to catch the light and draw the eye, while preserving the subtle, organic feel the client wanted. The result is packaging that feels quietly sophisticated and perfectly aligned with their brand. The Venture team loved how this approach honored their brand’s elegance while still creating those important focal points that guide the customer’s eye.

Less Material, Same Care

At first, the client wanted a full-height foam insert for their candle box, stretching from the bottom to the top of the 4-inch-tall package. They pictured the insert to be surrounding the ceramic candle vessels and offering maximum protection.

However, a foam insert of that size would have significantly increased packaging costs. Keeping the client’s budget in mind, our packaging specialist, Michelle, carefully reviewed the design. She then recommended a smarter solution: a much shorter, 1-inch foam insert that snugly supports the base of the candle. This approach still provided excellent protection while avoiding unnecessary material.

By making this change, we not only optimized costs but also greatly reduced material usage—perfectly aligning with Venture’s commitment to sustainability.

A Collection Loved by Brand and Buyers

When Venture received the final mass-produced packaging, they were thrilled by the exquisite quality of each rigid box. Together, the boxes formed a beautifully unified collection—perfect for showcasing their home fragrances individually or as an elegant complete set.

The Venture team was especially delighted by the combination of black foil and embossing on the text and artwork. They felt it struck the perfect balance of boldness and subtlety.

As soon as the Oasis Collection launched in October 2023, the packaging quickly captured customers’ hearts. Buyers praised the cohesive, inviting look and the smooth, satisfying unboxing experience.

“We’ve got the fragrances up in stores, and people are really loving how the packaging has turned out.” — Oladapo Onikuyide, Founder of Venture

The packaging became more than just protection—it became part of the product experience itself, setting the stage for the aromatic journey waiting inside.

Protect Your Business from Tariffs on Custom Packaging https://pakfactory.com/blog/protect-business-from-packaging-tariff/ Tue, 06 May 2025 13:25:00 +0000 https://pakfactory.com/blog/?p=5602 Tariffs are hitting the packaging industry hard, disrupting everything from supply chains to packaging design. But what does this mean for U.S. businesses that rely on custom packaging to deliver their products? And more importantly, how can brands stay prepared and reduce the economic impact?

It’s understandable for businesses to feel perplexed in a changing trade environment. This article cuts through the noise to help you make smarter, more strategic packaging decisions amid the ongoing tariff crisis.

Read more: How can Packaging Industry cope with Trump Tariffs?

Impact of Tariffs on Packaging Buyers

Sudden Price Hikes

Many small businesses with tighter budgets have traditionally sourced directly from Chinese packaging manufacturers due to their competitive pricing. But when U.S. President Donald Trump imposed a 145% tariff rate on Chinese goods in early April, packaging costs surged overnight. Since the buyers—the U.S. businesses—are responsible for paying these import duties, the financial burden hit fast and hard.

Even if you’re sourcing packaging from U.S.-based suppliers, you’re not entirely immune to tariff-related costs. That’s because many local packaging companies rely heavily on imported materials from China or manufacture there. As the new tariffs lead to higher costs in production, those increases are often passed down to their customers, meaning your business still ends up footing the bill.

A person uses a calculator and reviews documents with charts and graphs on a desk, highlighting cost analysis and financial planning essential for effective business budgeting.

Fewer Packaging Supplies and Options

Tariff disruptions to global supply chains are creating significant uncertainty in packaging supplies. Many packaging companies now face logistics challenges in sourcing raw materials or shipping finished goods, which can leave you waiting on critical packaging orders—and ultimately, put your sales at risk.

To manage limited inventory, suppliers may reduce the variety of packaging options they offer. This means fewer customization choices for your brand. On top of that, with profitability squeezed by tariffs, many custom packaging companies face existential threats. As more suppliers are forced to scale back or close their doors, premium custom packaging options could become increasingly scarce for brands.

Decline in Consumer Demand

With packaging costs rising due to steep tariffs, many brands are left with no choice but to raise prices. Unfortunately, higher prices can reduce customers’ willingness to buy, potentially hurting both sales and hard-earned customer loyalty.

Economists warn that the ongoing trade war could trigger a recession. The uncertainty surrounding the global economy particularly impacts demand for premium products with customized packaging, as consumers tend to prioritize essential purchases during challenging financial times, making your investment in high-quality packaging less effective at driving sales.

What Businesses Can Do

1. Review Your Packaging Supplier

If you’re currently buying packaging from China or from suppliers that only manufacture there, you may already be feeling the pressure to make a change.

As global trade dynamics continue to shift, your sourcing strategy should evolve accordingly. Price alone shouldn’t be the deciding factor anymore. Agility and flexibility are just as important. Look for suppliers with multiple manufacturing locations across other countries. This gives you more options and greater stability in the face of sudden tariff changes.

Transparency is also key. A good supplier should be open about their exposure to tariffs, their cost projections, and the state of their supply chain. Ask the right questions:

  • What is their strategy for managing tariffs?
  • Do they have contingency plans in place for long-term disruptions?

The more you know, the better prepared you’ll be to partner with a supplier that can weather uncertainty alongside your business.

2. Supplier Collaboration and Negotiation

Whether you’re seeking alternative suppliers or sticking with your current one, it’s essential to work together proactively to manage the cost increases caused by tariffs.

Start by negotiating more flexible contract terms, such as extended payment timelines to help ease cash flow pressures. You can also request volume discounts on bulk orders or explore bundled services that help lower your total costs.

Remember, most packaging companies are facing the same challenges in this volatile market. Open, honest communication can lead to solutions that benefit both sides. A strong supplier relationship built on transparency and collaboration can help both parties survive and even thrive during this difficult period for the entire industry.

3. Optimizing Packaging Design

Beyond renegotiating supplier terms, collaborate with your packaging designer to strategically restructure your packaging for greater cost efficiency. Here are a few tactics:

  • Lightweighting: Reduce the thickness or weight of your packaging materials. This not only cuts down on material usage but can also reduce tariff exposure and shipping costs. Keep in mind, though, that it may require careful testing to maintain adequate product protection.
  • Right-sizing: Adjust packaging dimensions to better fit the product. By minimizing excess material and void space, you can lower both material costs and dimensional shipping charges.
  • Simplification: Streamline your packaging by using fewer materials or components. This can help lower production costs, simplify assembly, and even improve recyclability.
  • Material substitution: Swap out materials for alternatives sourced from low-tariff or tariff-free regions. For example, switching to domestically sourced recycled materials can promote sustainability while helping manage costs.

Whichever approach you take, it will likely require additional R&D to ensure that your new design maintains product integrity and aligns with your brand standards. But when done right, these changes can significantly reduce long-term packaging expenses.

4. Integrate Tariff Costs into Planning

Passing increased costs directly to your customers may seem like the simplest solution, but it risks damaging customer satisfaction and hurting sales.

Instead, businesses should take a strategic approach. Factor potential volatility in packaging costs into your broader pricing strategies, margin planning, and financial forecasts. This helps ensure your business remains profitable even as trade conditions shift.

Leverage forecasting tools—especially those powered by AI—to better manage packaging inventory. By predicting demand and monitoring tariff trends, you can place strategic orders in advance and avoid supply chain disruptions. Planning ahead gives you a competitive edge and helps protect your bottom line in uncertain times.

How AI is Transforming the Custom Packaging Process

1. Personalized Consultation

Many packaging companies now use AI-powered chatbots to instantly reply to customer inquiries. These intelligent assistants recommend packaging options based on product requirements, budget constraints, and the client’s sustainability goals.

While sales representatives still handle follow-up communications, they can now leverage AI tools to create quotes much faster. These tools analyze historical sales data and real-time market trends to provide accurate cost estimates in minutes, instead of hours or days.

As AI continues to evolve, it’s not far-fetched to envision the entire quotation and ordering process can be fully automated.AI could go beyond simple recommendations, leveraging customer purchase history and industry trends to suggest innovative packaging solutions before businesses even realize they need them.

2. Efficient Packaging Design

Packaging designers are now using gen AI tools like Midjourney to create refined, high-quality packaging artwork in seconds. Meanwhile, platforms like Pacdora can instantly generate structural designs, including dielines and 3D mockups, further streamlining the design process.

Beyond aesthetics, AI-powered packaging design tools use advanced algorithms to optimize material usage, durability, and sustainability. Designers simply enter their requirements—like how much protection the product needs, weight restrictions, or sustainability goals—and the AI suggests designs that meet all these needs.

Soon, we’ll see machine learning take packaging design to the next level. By analyzing consumer behavior and emerging market trends, AI could generate design options that stand out on store shelves and strengthen brand identity. Major companies like L’Oréal and AptarGroup are already using AI models to predict how well different packaging designs will perform with customers.

4. Optimized Procurement

Packaging procurement is a complex and ever-changing process, but AI is making it smarter and more efficient. It can analyze supplier performance, material costs, and market conditions all at once, helping businesses make data-driven decisions. Through predictive analytics, businesses can also buy materials more efficiently and avoid supply chain disruptions.

In the future, AI forecasting will help companies in cost saving by predicting when material prices will change and how market demand might shift. Some forward-thinking businesses are already working on AI blockchain systems to make the entire supply chain more transparent and traceable. These systems provide real-time, tamper-proof data that ensures procurement processes remain fair, secure, and trustworthy for all stakeholders.

5. Streamlined Manufacturing

In manufacturing, AI’s potential seems unlimited. Machine learning algorithms improve print quality, color accuracy, and production speeds, boosting efficiency while greatly reducing human errors. How can Packaging Industry cope with Trump Tariffs? https://pakfactory.com/blog/tariff-impact-packaging-industry/ Mon, 21 Apr 2025 18:21:04 +0000 https://pakfactory.com/blog/?p=5511 As U.S. President Donald Trump ramps up tariffs on major trading partners—especially China—the trade war continues to intensify, with retaliatory tariffs from China adding further fuel to the fire.

This escalating conflict is causing global supply chain disruption. Few industries feel the pressure more than packaging, which relies heavily on imported raw materials and overseas manufacturing—much of it rooted in China.

In this article, we’ll break down the impact of tariffs on packaging companies and manufacturers, and explore what practical strategies the industry can adopt to navigate through the storm.

What Are Tariffs?

Let’s start with the basics. A tariff is a tax imposed by a government on imported goods.

Tariffs are typically used to protect domestic industries by making foreign products more expensive, thereby encouraging consumers to buy locally made alternatives. They also serve to generate government revenue, reduce trade deficits, encourage domestic production, or apply pressure in diplomatic negotiations.

But who actually pays the tariff? Contrary to common belief, it’s not the foreign exporters footing the bill—it’s the importing companies, in this case, the American businesses, that are responsible for paying these taxes. While businesses may attempt to absorb some of the costs, tariff-related expenses are often passed down the entire supply chain, ultimately leading to higher prices for consumers.

For packaging companies operating in today’s global marketplace, understanding these tariff mechanics is the first step toward developing effective mitigation strategies.

*Donald Trump announced a 90-day pause on the “reciprocal” tariffs until July 9, 2025, only imposing 10% baseline tariffs on most countries, except China, Mexico, and Canada.

#The U.S. and China announced a 90-day pause in tariffs starting May 14, 2025. US tariffs on Chinese imports are reduced from 145% to 30%, and Chinese tariffs on US goods fall from 125% to 10%.

Note: This table does not include tariffs that were in place before 2025, or any sectoral or section-specific tariffs (e.g., steel and aluminum)

How Are Tariffs Affecting Packaging Industry?

1. Increased Costs

The Trump tariffs directly affecting both raw materials and packaging costs, have created a storm of rising expenses for the packaging industry in several ways:

Raw Material Price Surges

Many packaging manufacturers in the U.S. rely heavily on imported raw materials, including steel, aluminum, paper, and plastics. Smaller packaging companies, in particular, often outsource their production to Chinese factories due to lower labor and manufacturing costs. When global imported goods—including those from China, Mexico, and Canada—got hit with high tariff rates, material costs increased significantly.

Compounding Costs Through Complex Supply Chains

Packaging production is already a complex, multi-step process. It often involves a global supply chain where raw materials and intermediate goods cross borders multiple times. For example, pulp sourced from the U.S. may be sent to Europe for paperboard production, which is then shipped to China for packaging manufacturing, and finally exported back to the States. With tariffs potentially applied at each border crossing, costs can multiply quickly through the supply chain.

Logistics and Warehousing Expenses

Beyond direct material costs, supply chain disruptions and logistics challenges contribute to rising costs. Some companies pay more to expedite shipments before tariff implementation deadlines, while others incur extra expenses storing materials in the country of origin in hopes that tariff policies may ease.

Administrative Burden

The complexity of navigating tariff regulations has itself become a substantial expense. Companies must now dedicate significant resources to analyze evolving trade policies, calculate the impact on margins, and seek alternative suppliers. Many packaging businesses have found it necessary to engage external legal and customs expertise—an additional cost that particularly burdens smaller firms.

Global Trade Restriction: A symbolic depiction of global trade restrictions, cargo containers and chain wrapped around the planet, emphasizing limitations on international commerce.

2. Decline in Profitability

With tariff-related costs increasing, profit margins across the packaging industry are under intense pressure. This is particularly alarming for small to medium-sized businesses, which often operate on tighter margins and have less financial flexibility to absorb these added expenses.

The impact can be severe. Industry estimates suggest that a 25% tariff could eliminate profit margins entirely for certain companies in the printing sector—a field closely tied to packaging. Similarly, the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) has warned that a 25% tariff on imports from Canada and Mexico alone could add up to $144 billion annually to U.S. manufacturing costs. Small and mid-sized enterprises are expected to bear the brunt of this financial strain.

As profitability shrinks, businesses are forced to make tough decisions—whether it’s scaling back investments, delaying product development, or even reducing headcount. In a highly competitive market, such measures can threaten business viability.

3. Further Disruptions from Retaliatory Tariffs

As the trade war drags on with no end in sight, economists are sounding the alarm on broader economic fallout. Leading brokerage J.P. Morgan has raised the probability of a global recession this year from 40% to over 60%—largely due to mounting trade tensions.

Retaliatory tariffs are compounding the problem. China’s tariffs imposed on U.S. goods are directly impacting American agricultural exports, which in turn reduces demand for packaging solutions. This ripple effect is felt throughout the packaging supply chain.

The climate of uncertainty hinders business development. With trade policies constantly evolving and their duration unknown, packaging companies face difficulty in making confident long-term decisions. Important investments in production capacities, technological innovations, and new product development get postponed or even canceled. The result? A serious threat to the industry’s long-term growth and competitiveness.

Mitigation Strategies of the Packaging Industry

1. Adjusting the Supply Chain

Optimizing Inventories

Some packaging companies might have strategically stockpiled imported materials before the tariffs took full effect. By optimizing the use of these inventories, companies can create a short-term buffer against sudden cost increases. This is often the quickest and most cost-effective strategy for mitigating the initial impact of tariffs.

However, this approach isn’t feasible for everyone. Smaller businesses, which typically operate with tighter budgets and limited warehousing capacity, may not have the means to stockpile large inventories. Even for larger companies, this is a temporary fix rather than a long-term solution.

Looking ahead, the industry can take a more proactive inventory management approach, by leveraging advanced market demand forecasting and supply chain analytics. By predicting potential tariff fluctuations, companies can time their purchases more strategically, and build up reserves of critical materials during periods of price stability and ahead of known tariff deadlines.

Sourcing Suppliers from Other Countries

Reducing reliance on high-tariff regions like China is a key strategy for mitigating tariff impacts. By diversifying the supply chain and sourcing packaging materials or manufacturing services from countries with lower tariff rates—such as Vietnam, Malaysia, or other parts of Southeast Asia—packaging companies can lower their exposure to trade tensions.

However, this approach comes with other challenges. Identifying reliable alternative suppliers takes time, and building strong partnerships requires careful vetting, supplier contract negotiations, and long-term relationship management. The process is resource-intensive and not without risk.

Moreover, even if production is shifted to lower-tariff regions, the complexity of global supply chains means materials often still need to cross multiple borders. As seen in earlier examples, if tariffs are imposed at several stages of the production and distribution process, costs can quickly rack up.

Despite these challenges, developing a more geographically diverse supplier network remains a valuable strategy. It provides both immediate operational cost relief and long-term supply chain resilience against future tariff-induced disruptions.

Manufacturing in the U.S.

Another strategy is to shift sourcing and production back to the U.S.—a move aligned with one of the Trump administration’s core objectives: revitalizing domestic production. This approach offers the clear benefit of completely eliminating tariff exposure. However, the reality is far more complex.

The U.S. currently lacks the raw material capacity to meet the full demands of the packaging industry. Increased demand for domestically sourced, tariff-free materials would likely drive prices up even further. Moreover, domestic producers of packaging are still relatively limited—particularly when it comes to customization.

Custom packaging often requires specialized equipment, molds, and dies, all of which come with high upfront costs. Combined with higher labor costs and facility overhead, manufacturing in the U.S. might even end up with higher production costs than importing from China—even with tariffs included.

While reshoring may hold long-term potential, it’s not a quick or easy fix. Building sufficient domestic capacity would require years of investment, infrastructure development, and workforce training.

2. Re-engineering Packaging Products

Beyond reconfiguring the supply chain, packaging companies can also navigate tariff challenges by making strategic changes to packaging design.

Material substitution is a practical starting point. By selecting alternative materials that are more readily available domestically or that carry a lower cost per unit, companies can significantly reduce their exposure to tariffs. A notable example comes from beverage giant Coca-Cola, which considered shifting more of its packaging from aluminum cans—subject to steep aluminum import tariffs—to plastic bottles, which are often cheaper and easier to source.

Companies can also lean into innovation in sustainable materials. Options like advanced paper coatings, bioplastics derived from non-tariffed agricultural feedstocks, or packaging made from recycled content (such as PCR plastics or recycled paper fibers) offer dual benefits: cost mitigation and alignment with growing consumer demand for eco-friendly packaging.

Another effective strategy is structural redesign. By revisiting product specifications—reducing dimensions, minimizing material use, or consolidating format variations—packaging companies can drive down costs, improve production efficiency, and optimize shipping.

Ultimately, thoughtful design adjustments not only help offset tariffs but can also position brands as more agile and sustainability-minded under the challenging global trade dynamics.

3. Passing Cost to Clients

The most straightforward—but perhaps least desirable—response to rising tariff-related expenses is passing the cost on to clients. Large packaging companies like Amcor have publicly acknowledged this approach, stating that tariff-driven cost increases could be transferred downstream when necessary.

However, the ability to pass on these costs is often constrained by market dynamics. The packaging sector is intensely competitive, and smaller firms, in particular, lack the pricing power to adjust rates without risking client relationships.

Downstream businesses that purchase packaging, like consumer packaged goods companies and food producers, are typically resistant to price hikes. They worry that increased packaging costs will ultimately be passed on to end consumers, who may push back or turn to cheaper alternatives. This reluctance is even more pronounced during periods of economic uncertainty triggered by a prolonged trade war.

For most packaging companies, cost transfer is just one component of a balanced response strategy rather than a complete solution. Industry stakeholders should combine selective price adjustments with the supply chain modifications and product re-engineering approaches discussed earlier.

The size and weight of your product are the most important factors to consider when choosing a folding carton style. A carton that is too small or too light may not adequately protect your product, while a carton that is too large can increase material costs and affect shipping efficiency.

For heavier products, you may want to consider a more robust folding carton style, such as a Lock Bottom Box (1-2-3 Bottom) or a Crash Bottom Box (Auto-Lock Bottom), which can provide the necessary support to hold the weight without compromising stability. For lighter products, a more streamlined folding carton style, such as a Tuck End Box, can provide a clean appearance while minimizing material usage.

By carefully considering the size and weight of your product, you can ensure that the carton fits perfectly and has the necessary strength to protect it throughout the supply chain.

Branding and Aesthetics

Your packaging is the first point of contact for customers with your brand, making it a valuable branding tool. A well-designed folding carton style can leave a lasting impression, building brand awareness and loyalty.

Consider Sleeve Packaging, which provides a clean, modern appearance ideal for luxury or premium products. Counter Display Boxes are designed to draw attention to smaller products in retail environments. Box sleeves offer versatility for customization and protection, allowing you to order them in small quantities for different audiences or occasions. Adding features such as foil stamping, embossing, or high-quality printing can further enhance the visual appeal, so your product stands out on the shelf.

As you consider your folding carton style, it’s important to ensure it aligns with your brand’s visual goals and communicates the right message to your audience.

Functional Requirements

Folding carton packaging must meet the needs of the product and the consumer. Consider these key factors:

  • Protection: If your product is fragile or high-value, styles such as Boxes with Inserts or Two-Piece Boxes can provide extra security during transit. Additionally, incorporating a friction lock can enhance the durability and security of the box, ensuring closures remain tightly sealed.
  • Display: If your product will be sold in a retail environment, Five-Panel Hanger Boxes or Counter Display Boxes can increase visibility and accessibility.
  • Convenience: Features such as Thumb Tabs, Custom Cutouts or Tuck Top Auto Bottom designs can improve usability for consumers, enhancing their overall experience.

By balancing these functional requirements with the unique characteristics of your product, you can ensure that the folding carton style you choose not only meets practical needs but also enhances the customer experience.

Types of Folding Cartons

Folding cartons come in several types, each with unique characteristics and advantages tailored to specific packaging needs. The two primary types of folding cartons are paperboard folding cartons and corrugated folding cartons.

Paperboard Folding Cartons

Paperboard folding cartons are made from a single layer of paperboard, making them lightweight and easy to assemble. These cartons are commonly used for retail products due to their clean and simple appearance. They are particularly popular in the food, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries, where they provide an attractive and functional packaging solution. Paperboard folding cartons can be easily customized with various printing and finishing techniques, allowing brands to create visually appealing packaging that stands out on the shelf.

Popular Folding Carton Styles and Their Variations

Tuck End Box Styles

Tuck end boxes are some of the most versatile and widely used folding carton styles, known for their simplicity, ease of assembly, and sleek design. They are ideal for lightweight to moderately heavy products and come in various configurations:

  • Straight Tuck End (STE) Box: Both the top and bottom panels tuck in the same direction, creating a seamless appearance with clean edges. This style is perfect for showcasing high-end products like cosmetics and electronics.
  • Reverse Tuck End (RTE) Box: The top and bottom panels tuck in opposite directions, providing balance and structural stability. RTE boxes are commonly used for food products, pharmaceuticals, and retail packaging.
  • French Reverse Tuck (FRT): Similar to the standard reverse tuck but with an enhanced design to provide a more elegant presentation, often used in luxury product packaging.

Bottom Closure Box Styles

Bottom closure boxes are designed to offer additional strength and security, making them ideal for heavier products or items requiring extra stability during handling and shipping:

Two-Piece Box Styles

Two-piece boxes are designed for premium and luxury packaging, offering a high-end unboxing experience:

  • Double Wall Tray & Lid: Consisting of a separate lid and base, these boxes provide excellent protection while enhancing the perceived value of the product. Ideal for jewelry, apparel, and gift packaging, they allow for elaborate customization with finishes like embossing or foil stamping.

Example of a double wall tray & lid holding tiny bottles
  • Six Corner Box: This variation of two-piece boxes features a more robust design, often used for heavier or fragile items. The six-point construction provides added strength and durability.

Specialty Packaging Styles

Specialty packaging styles are designed for unique purposes, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal to meet specific marketing or display needs:

  • Holster Boxes (HOL): These compact and efficient boxes are typically used for small retail products, offering a snug fit and easy assembly.
  • Sleeve Packaging (SE): Sleek and minimalist, sleeve packaging is ideal for enhancing the visual appeal of products like cosmetics, food, and electronics. The sliding sleeve design adds a touch of sophistication.

Example of a folding carton sleeve with corrugated tray
  • Counter Display Boxes: Designed for point-of-sale displays, these boxes highlight products directly on retail counters, maximizing visibility and accessibility for consumers.

Example of a folding carton display box
  • Five-Panel Hanger Boxes: With a hanging tab on the fifth panel, these boxes are perfect for retail displays where shelf space is limited. They’re commonly used for lightweight items like toys and small electronics.

Enhanced Functional Packaging

For products requiring additional functionality or customization, these packaging styles go beyond the basics:

  • Boxes with Inserts: Inserts are added to secure individual items within the box, providing extra protection and an organized presentation. Ideal for fragile or multi-component products.

Close up of folding carton inserts
  • Boxes with Custom Cutouts: Custom cutouts enhance visibility and functionality, allowing consumers to see or feel the product without opening the box. This style is often used for cosmetics or electronics.
  • Boxes with Thumb Tabs: Thumb tabs improve the user experience by making it easier to open and close the packaging. They’re especially useful for items requiring frequent access, such as food or pharmaceutical products.

To capture Via Carota’s artisanal essence, the box had to exude sophistication through material choices and finishes. The design needed to uphold the restaurant’s premium standards while embodying a “vintage meets modern” aesthetic, enhancing the overall customer experience.

3. With Precise and Consistent Details

Via Carota envisioned an embossed pattern across the box’s exterior, complemented by foil stamping for the brand’s logo and interior text. These intricate details required meticulous alignment and consistency across all units to meet the brand’s high expectations and quality standards.

East West Bank: Honoring Associates with Premium Plaque Boxes https://pakfactory.com/blog/east-west-bank-honoring-associates-with-premium-presentation-packaging/ Wed, 08 Jan 2025 14:15:24 +0000 https://pakfactory.com/blog/?p=4555 How can employers express genuine appreciation for their dedicated employees and their invaluable achievements? Many opt for gifts, certificates, medals, or trophies. Besides honoring its dedicated associates with plaques, East West Bank chose to elevate the recognition by specially designing a premium presentation box.

With PakFactory’s expertise, the final result—a sophisticated pearlescent rigid box with a magnetic closure—offered both elegance and functionality, reflecting East West Bank’s commitment to excellence as a leading financial institution.

The Client: East West Bank

Founded in 1973 in Los Angeles to serve the Chinese American community, East West Bank has grown into a full-service commercial bank with over 100 locations across the United States. Managing over $70 billion in assets, the bank is renowned for its expertise in cross-border banking, offering financial solutions that bridge the East and West.

East West Bank’s commitment to excellence extends beyond its financial services to recognizing and celebrating its associates’ achievements. The bank prioritizes honoring its employees with meaningful rewards that embody its core values of quality, innovation, and sophistication.

The Challenge: Creating a Premium Presentation Box

rigid box precision of the 90 degree corner

For its latest employee recognition initiative, East West Bank sought a high-end packaging solution for its plaques. The presentation box needed to not only protect and elegantly display the plaques but also reflect the premium nature of the brand.

Entrusting PakFactory with this project, the bank required a packaging solution that addressed three key challenges:

Challenge 1: Magnetic Rigid Box with Specific Finishes

The client requested a 7” x 5” x 1” magnetic rigid box that matched the gunmetal-colored pearlescent exterior of their previous packaging. PakFactory was tasked with sourcing a similar material while proposing modern alternatives that aligned with East West Bank’s evolving brand identity. A matte coating was also required to enhance the premium aesthetic.

Challenge 2: Logo Precision

The key branding element—the East West Bank logo featured black foiling combined with registered embossing, requiring precise alignment between the foil application and embossing process. To achieve this sharp and tactile effect, high levels of accuracy are demanded to ensure consistency across all units.

Challenge 3: Functional Customization

The packaging needed to securely hold the plaque while ensuring easy removal for recipients. A custom foam insert with precise cutouts was required to prevent damage during transportation while maintaining usability.

The Process: Precision in Design and Production

1. Material Sourcing and Matching

To replicate the gunmetal-colored pearlescent finish requested by the client, PakFactory sourced multiple samples of pearlescent paper and explored alternative options to match the bank’s modern branding needs.

After careful evaluation, we proposed a lighter blue-grey pearlescent paper as a refined alternative, offering better contrast for the logo while maintaining an upscale, luminous finish. East West Bank agreed with the choice, appreciating the modern twist and alignment with its branding.

2. Logo Foiling and Embossing

Since the East West Bank logo was critical to the design, to ensure it was flawlessly executed required:

  • Foil Application: Black foil was applied with pinpoint accuracy for a bold and luxurious finish.
  • Registered Embossing: The embossing was precisely aligned with the foil to add depth and texture, enhancing both visual appeal and tactile engagement.

The precision in production resulted in a striking logo that enhanced both visual and tactile engagement.

3. Engineering the Foam Insert

To make sure the plaques were secured, PakFactory designed a precision-cut EVA foam insert tailored to the plaque’s dimensions.

A thumb notch was also incorporated into the foam insert, allowing recipients to remove the plaque easily while maintaining the packaging’s refined aesthetic.

4. Prototyping and Refinement

To validate the material finishes, structural integrity, and logo effects, PakFactory developed prototypes during the design process to test:

  • Pearlescent paper durability and compatibility with CMYK printing and matte coating.
  • Alignment and consistency of black foiling and registered embossing.
  • The EVA foam insert was a snug fit for the plaques and the thumb notch’s functionality.

We consulted East West Bank at every stage and integrated feedback into the design, ensuring the final product aligned perfectly with the client’s expectations.

5. Production and Quality Control

With the design finalized, PakFactory moved forward with production, and conducted quality control checks at every stage of the manufacturing process:

  • Box Construction: Magnetic closures were seamlessly integrated for durability and ease of use.
  • Printing and Coating: High-quality CMYK printing was applied inside and out, followed by a matte coating.
  • Assembly: The pearlescent paper, foam insert, and embossed logo were precisely crafted to ensure a flawless final product.

Enhanced Employee Recognition Experience

The premium presentation box elevated the overall unboxing experience for the recipients, with the precision-cut EVA foam insert allowing effortless access to the plaques.

East West Bank’s associates appreciated the high-quality design adding a sense of prestige to the recognition program, and fostering greater employee engagement.

Elevated Brand Perception

The meticulous design reinforced East West Bank’s commitment to quality and innovation. The transition from gunmetal to blue-grey pearlescent paper modernized the look while maintaining brand consistency. This refined packaging strengthened the bank’s reputation both internally and externally.

A More Cost Effective Alternative to Rigid Boxes https://pakfactory.com/blog/rigid-box-cost-effective-alternatives/ Mon, 09 Dec 2024 23:11:52 +0000 https://pakfactory.com/blog/?p=4492 Rigid boxes are known for their superior product protection and luxurious presentation. However, they come with several drawbacks, including fixed dimensions, increased space requirements, limited flexibility, and potential for damage. These factors contribute to higher costs, making rigid boxes a less ideal choice for businesses prioritizing budget. In this article, we’ll explore cost-effective alternatives to rigid boxes that still provide excellent protection and presentation.

Why Are Rigid Boxes Pricey? Here is Why

  1. Material: Rigid boxes, also known as set-up boxes, are made from costly chipboard or paperboard that is thicker and heavier than regular cardboard. They require additional paper wraps to cover the solid boards. Because of their built-in qualities, excellent protection, and durability for reuse, rigid boxes are commonly used for luxury packaging, heavier products needing extra support, or when you want to enhance the perceived value of your goods.
  2. Production: The high cost of rigid boxes is due to extensive equipment set-ups and the significant labor required to wrap and glue them.
  3. Shipping: Because of the design and construction of rigid boxes, most rigid box styles cannot be compressed or folded, except for collapsible ones. This leads to increased costs due to the handling of heavy, bulky, and non-flat packaging that takes up more space during transportation, often requiring shipment on pallets instead of in multiple packages.
  4. Storage: The non-collapsible nature of rigid boxes incurs extra costs. They not only require more storage space but also often result in wasted space, potentially increasing warehousing costs.
Why are rigid boxes more expensive

Alternatives #1 – Corrugated Boxes

Image of corrugated boxes

Corrugated boxes are a great rigid box alternative if product protection is your priority. Made from fluted materials, they offer outstanding cushioning against impacts during shipping. Corrugated boxes are also more cost-effective to manufacture than rigid boxes. But to get the same look, printability, folding ability and quality as a rigid box, consider the following when customizing your corrugated boxes:

Consider micro-flute type like F or N that has a higher number of flutes per foot

Use thinner, lightweight micro-flute types like F or N, which have a higher number of flutes per foot. This results in a smoother surface, increased stiffness and rigidity, and enables more precise folding operations and direct lithographic (offset) printing. If you’re curious about other available flute sizes, be sure to check out our corrugated master guide.

Micro-flute types

Choose white coated linerboard for the exquisite outer printing surface

Corrugated cardboard poses challenges when it comes to printing due to its brown color and porous nature, which can make it difficult to achieve the desired print quality. When a high-quality outer printing surface is required, the brown kraft liner on the outer surface can be replaced with a coated white kraft liner. This smooth, white surface is ideal for fine printing and helps prevent ink from bleeding into the porous material, ensuring a crisp and clear printed design.

Difference between coated and uncoated linerboard

Use Flexography or Lithographic printing for highest quality print

Flexographic Printing (Direct Printing) is the most popular method used for printing on cardboard boxes. Plates are developed with different designs for each specific color. These plates are then attached to large rotating cylinders that print the designs, one after another—eventually building the complete design. While it has its uses, this type of printing is not recommended for highly intricate designs or photo-quality printing as each color would require a separate plate to be made. But this may work for you if you have simple design with few colors and high volume of materials to justify the creation of plates for flexographic printing.

Lithographic Printing (Offset Printing) is done using litho labels instead of printing directly onto the corrugated board. These labels are first printed with the design and then adhered to the exterior of the linerboard. This method allows high quality, photo-realistic images and intricate design, perfect for brands that want to create a premium look for their packaging. Also, this type of printing gives a smooth and glossy finish that can enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of the packaging, making it a popular choice for consumer goods that need to stand out on the shelf.

Flexographic printing (direct printing) vs lithographic printing (offset printing)

Apply a protective water-resistant coating to form a moisture barrier

Applying a water-resistant coating to the corrugated cardboard surface creates a barrier to stop moisture from getting in, the box from getting wet or ink from washing away. This is especially important if you’re packing moisture sensitive products like electronics, food or pharmaceuticals. Having a coated surface also means the printed designs will stay vibrant and legible even in wet conditions. Plus it will extend the shelf life of perishable goods by keeping them dry in transit and storage.

Coated vs uncoated surface of corrugated cardboard

Design die-cut corrugated boxes to precisely fit your product’s dimensions

Corrugated boxes can be designed and die-cut to snugly fit your product’s exact dimensions. This helps eliminate empty space and reduce the risk of your product shifting during transit. With unlimited die cutting customization options, you can also create unique shapes and structures that are not only functional, protective, but also premium. For example, add cut-out handles for easy carrying or transparent windows to showcase the product inside, both functional and visually appealing.

Use box inserts or foam to enhance resistance to heavy loads and stacking pressure and maintain the shape of the contents

To mitigate the downside of corrugated boxes being less resistant to heavy loads and stacking pressure, one effective strategy is to use custom box inserts or foam, which not only bolster resistance to such stresses but also help maintain the shape of the contents. For a more sustainable approach, consider opting for paper-based materials over plastics or foam when creating custom inserts. Additionally, match insert materials with box materials for cost efficiency. Moreover, these extra layers of inserts significantly improve the unboxing experience, adding an element of surprise and delight for the customer while ensuring that the product arrives in pristine condition.

Alternative #2 – Folding Cartons

Image of folding carton boxes

Folding cartons offer a cost-effective alternative that can still convey quality and achieve a similar look and feel to rigid boxes. They are highly efficient to produce, ideal for automated mass production with minimal retooling, and can be shipped flat to reduce shipping costs. To effectively compete with rigid boxes, leverage the design flexibility and premium finishing techniques available with folding cartons. Keep in mind that folding cartons are constructed from lighter materials and have a more delicate build, so consider the size and weight of your products. Here are some tips to reinforce the structural integrity of folding cartons:

Consider folding carton box styles that are stronger for holding products inside

There are various folding carton box styles, but the snap lock bottom (1-2-3 bottom) and tuck top auto bottom (crash bottom) are among the strongest. The bottom design of both these box styles creates a sturdy base that can hold heavier products compared to other box styles. One advantage of these styles is that they can be shipped flat, with the tabs that require gluing already pre-glued by the manufacturer. This means that upon arrival at your warehouse, all you need to do is assemble the boxes.

When it comes to assembly, both styles are quick and efficient. The snap lock bottom features four flaps that are folded and automatically interlocked to form the bottom in just three steps. Similarly, the tuck top auto bottom can be easily popped open, making the assembly process a breeze.

What is snap lock bottom (1-2-3 bottom) folding carton style

Use double-layer folding cartons for additional strength and durability

Folding cartons can be made more rigid and sturdy by utilizing a double-layer or double-wall construction, also known as simplex tray boxes. This cost-effective solution is an excellent alternative for heavier products that require the premium look and protection of rigid boxes. The process involves folding a 24 pt board multiple times to create thickness, which adds extra strength and durability to the carton. Additionally, the hollow sides created by the double-layer construction provide stability to the overall structure and contribute to a high-end bulky appearance similar to a rigid box.

Examples of double-layer double-wall folding carton box

Reinforce structure using custom inserts or dividers

Incorporating custom inserts and dividers can provide further structural reinforcement, ensuring products stay secure during transit. These inserts can be crafted from various materials, such as paper-based options, to enhance cost efficiency and eco-friendliness.

Folding carton inserts and dividers

Apply premium finishes like embossing, foil stamping, or specialty coatings

Enhancing your folding cartons with premium finishes can significantly elevate the luxurious feel and perceived value of your products. Techniques such as embossing add texture and depth by creating raised or recessed designs on the surface. Foil stamping involves applying a thin layer of metallic or pigmented foil using heat and pressure, resulting in a striking, reflective appearance that catches the eye. Specialty coatings, like varnish, can be used to achieve various finishes, including clear, shiny, matte, or silk, enhancing the carton’s visual appeal. Spot UV coating is another effective technique, applying a glossy, clear coating to specific areas of the carton to create a dynamic contrast between coated and uncoated surfaces. Additionally, lamination involves bonding a thin protective film to the carton’s surface, providing a smooth and durable finish that can be either glossy or matte. These premium finishes not only improve the aesthetic appeal of your packaging but also contribute to a memorable unboxing experience for consumers.

Examples of folding carton premium finishes

Use Folding Carton for Primary Packaging and Corrugated for Secondary Packaging

Combining folding cartons and corrugated boxes offers a highly efficient and cost-effective packaging solution that maximizes both protection and presentation. Folding cartons are ideal for primary packaging because they are lightweight and can be customised with high end graphics and finishes, perfect for showcasing and shelf display. Meanwhile, corrugated boxes are perfect for secondary packaging, they provide robust protection during transit and storage.

To have a consistent brand image across both packaging types, consider using eco-friendly kraft material for corrugated boxes, which can further emphasize a brand’s commitment to sustainability. A minimalist design with just the logo can achieve a sleek, cohesive look. This combination of folding cartons and corrugated boxes is versatile and can be applied to various industries, from cosmetics to electronics, to meet different packaging needs with style and practicality.

Alternative #3 – Hybrid

Image of a corrugated box with cardboard sleeve

Hybrid packaging solutions offer a unique blend of the strengths found in both rigid and flexible packaging options. By combining elements such as corrugated boxes with cardboard sleeves, businesses can achieve a packaging solution that provides the durability and protection of corrugated materials while maintaining the sleek and refined appearance of a rigid box. This approach is particularly suitable for mid-range products that require a balance between cost and presentation, offering a premium look without the high price tag associated with traditional rigid boxes.

Takeaways

Choosing the right packaging solution involves carefully balancing and making trade-offs between cost, protection strength, durability, functionality, aesthetics, assembly difficulty, and storage efficiency. By opting for alternative rigid box solutions like corrugated boxes and folding cartons, businesses can have a similar balance of these factors to rigid boxes but at a more affordable cost.

Be creative when designing your packaging solutions—think outside the box, literally! Try different techniques like premium finishes, printing options, custom inserts, extra packaging accessories and even hybrid or multi-material solutions to turn a plain and boring package into an unforgettable experience for your customer.
